DS 3 took the WPPSI-IV last winter. How long do we have to wait to retake it? (his current school program requires that kids take the 4 year+ version of the WPPSI-IV).

I know that the 4+ version is very different from the stripped down kiddie version - is there a 2 year wait period? Or could DS be retested after a 12 month "cooling off" period.

Just out of curiosity, what's happening at this preschool that they require a kiddie IQ test?

Unfortunately, there is a fair amount of overlap between the age 3- version and the age 4+ version (four out of the five required subtests are also part of the 4+ full scale). You will still have to wait 2 years to re-administer the WPPSI-IV.

Thanks very much (for this and all the other very informative posts). I am not sure how this will work out (I guess maybe the SB 5 is an option, or we can just wait if the school is ok with that too).

This does really underscore the importance of making sure a little kid is ready for test day (good breakfast etc. etc.) because of the long retest interval. Thanks!
