    Hi,

My DD6 took the WIAT III this past weekend to hopefully qualify for DYS. She has qualifying WISC scores. She didn't quite qualify individually in total math, written or math, but did qualify in total achievement.
DYS needs total composite, total math, total reading or total written - 145+.

Her reports shows total achievement; is this the same as total composite?
She has total reading and basic reading composites, but the math and written do not have "total" written, just mathematics composite and written expression. Is this the same thing?
She was given extra subsets outside of kinder level since subsets are so limited and to get scores eligible for DYS.
For math, she was given math problem solving and numerical operations.
For written expression she was given Spelling, Sentence Composition,Alphabet Writing,Sentence Combining,Sentence Building.
She was also given oral expression subsets which are not required but helped her achieve >99.9th percentile.

If anyone has experience with WIAT scores and DYS, I would really appreciate hearing from you. I am hoping she will qualify with her WISC scores and WIAT without a portfolio.
    TIA!

On my reports, I assumed that composite is the 'total' for each of the areas tested... reading, writing, quantitative reasoning (math) and oral language (oral is not part of written expression on my report but it's own 'section'). I don't have a total composite.

Not sure if that helps :-)

    And yes.

The composites on the WIAT-III are:
Oral Language, Total Reading, Basic Reading, Reading Comprehension and Fluency, Written Expression, Mathematics, Math Fluency, and Total Achievement.

...pronounced like the long vowel and first letter of the alphabet...

Thank you! Aeh, I was wondering if she needed the fluency subset to get the complete composite but I guess that is not needed. Thanks for clearing that up!
