My daughter nnat2 score is only 118, stanine 7. Very much lower than her ability.
And I have received a letter stating she is a good learner but our school accepts the superior gifted only. Learner?!!!!. I never had the time and energy to teach her and does not have anybody doing that either. We are all alone. Not even a visitor.
I was shocked. I am a foreigner single working mother dealing with unfortunate life situation, who has not family and friends around. She started reading chapters at 4 and she keeps in my toe with all her critical thinking ability. I live in a country side where a church private pre-school and kindergarten is the only facility that worked with my work schedule. But I tell you what, I am frustrated with a note from her teachers got each and every day. How she does not stop talking, pouting and all that, while she is very bright. I tried every disciplinary action but nothing worked and now she has started not minding what they are asking her to do all together. She claims everything is boring for her around the house too.
I cannot send her to a public school since I know she would not last even a day there. Time out after time out. A call after call. The only thing she enjoys playing outside at school. She makes a joke out of everything and everybody. And talks and talks to everybody around. That made us isolated from school. My life involves working and taking care of her. No relationship or social life. She asked me about God which beyond what I can write in this e-mail. I honestly thought she was possessed by devil but after a goggled I found out it was a gifted issue. Now the only school around here does not accept her and did not know what I can do with child. I am so sad. Any input is appreciated.

    Phew!

It sounds like you've got a lot going on. Have you considered working with a therapist or other professional to help you out? Your daughter may certainly have behavior issues as a result of an inappropriate school environment, but at her age, I'd be very hesitant to chalk all her bad behavior up to simply being "gifted". Has she had any other testing besides the NNAT2?

Your daughter sounds extraordinary. I don't know anything about the nnat2 test, but I would take it only as a single data point. Certainly test again later if you feel the results weren't representative.

I agree that working with a therapist might be helpful, especially if you can find one who has worked with gifted or 2E kids (though this is much easier said than done, for sure).

My daughter is very gifted but we also had a lot of behavior issues and boredom issues starting in preschool which were a result of giftedness, but also ADHD, but it's hard to untangle what is the result of what.

Also have you talked to your local school district? They may offer therapy and preschool services in some cases, and behavior can sometimes get a child in. That would be one more schooling option to consider, as it sounds like you aren't too happy with her current school.

Whatever is happening she is NOT possessed by the devil. As one single working mother to another some of her behavoir could simply be from picking up on your stress. Unfortunately i havent come up with a cure for that though attention and lots of cuddles help. She also sounds like she is not externally motivated so you maybe need to work hard to find something that works for discipline - hopefully someone will chime in with some book recommendations.
