We are moving to Cary, NC, into the Wake County school system. We have a very wide option of schools/areas that we can live in, and are trying to rent at our first guess of where we'd like to buy eventually, since we have a 4 year old that will have to register for kindergarten during the rental year. Sounds crazy ahead to be worrying about it, but with capped schools and overflow schools, it is actually appropriate!
One thing that would help us narrow things down, is talking to some parents of gifted kids in the area. There is a PAGE listserv but we're not getting any replies to our requests to join. I'm also going to call and see if I can talk to someone, but in the meantime... anyone know?
They do a lot of in class differentiation and what you actually get varies widely by school, so it's hard to get a good view of things from out of town.
