DD has always had allergic reactions to certain shoes and we got the results from patch testing back:-

She is a allergic to chrome in shoes among other things.

Does anyone here know of some some good online resources that show 'ingredients' for common household products?

There aren't any, really-- the best sources only list the two most high-priority allergens in this class of things, those being Nickel and Latex. Even those are not very reliable, I've found.

We've found our best resource for allergen information (particularly contact dermatitis) is our allergists' office. I'm sorry I can't help with the chrome - that's at least one thing my dd hasn't reacted to smile (yet! knock on wood!)

The above link is mostly food related (hence the name) but you might find someone on their forum who's dealt with chrome before since many people with allergies like to overachieve and have many smile I haven't been on there for a few years but I do recall long threads about latex free products so it wasn't limited to food. Good luck!
