The school called to say they've approved DS11 taking two eschool classes starting next week. Before vacation, I asked them to look into letting him start school with third period, at 10 am, and substitute online classes for his first period math and second period elective, which he could do in the afternoon when he gets home and is actually awake.

It's been nearly an insurmountable problem, getting him to get up for school every day. It starts with the beginning of the bedtime stuff, where he starts in ranting about how much he hates school, because brushing your teeth means bedtime means getting up in the morning means school. At times like now, it starts nearly a week before vacation is over, when he needs to start adjusting back to school hours. He is (like me) an incorrigible night owl, and (like me) there is no adjusting to early mornings, no matter how long you have to do them. So I had the idea of changing the start time on his day, to see how that works.

So he starts math and video game design classes online next week, and he will only have to get up at the early time every other Wednesday due to the split schedule they have. If it proves successful, we're looking at more eschool for next year.
