Hello! I just got an email from DYS and she told me that my son's IQ meet the criteria however they needed more information in the form of at least one recent achievement or talent search/college placement test listed on our Qualification Criteria to override his portfolio. My son is only 5, aside from the IQ score that I sent, I also sent videos of him reading and doing math. What do they need still? When I look at the search.college placement test, they are for older kids? What exactly do they need? What other test do they need? Anyone please help... cry

At age 5, you would need an individually administered achievement test: he is too young for any of the talent search/college placement test (even EXPLORE only goes down to 3rd grade). The options are KTEA-II, WIAT-II, WIAT-III, or WJ-III. Any of these would need to be administered by a qualified psychologist. You might be able to get the school to administer it if there is an educational reason, but I wouldn't count on it. You can get this kind of testing for a few hundred dollars around here - call around local psychologists and see what they say.
