Before he completely passes it, you might check out ApPS Beast Academy. It is their elementary curriculum.

AoPS's Beast Academy is only available for grade three at this point, and I think it would be far too easy.

I'm saving this thread now after reading the word "pillaged". Sooooo true! wink

Just FYI, the fourth grade Beast Academy 4A book was just released...

You could still homeschool but go through a public charter school. If your child is moving that fast through curriculum it is there job to provide the next level of coursework--and then you are not spending hundreds on curriculum.

... just be aware that there is a steep price to be paid for going with a public school, and make no mistake-- a virtual/charter school is VERY MUCH still a public school, staffed by people who have likely never seen a PG child, and simply cannot understand what they need.

They mean well, but we've had a lot of years of the school underserving my DD while we struggled to get her "the next level" of coursework. They mostly would stall out of being stunned/disbelieving, and we'd run in place and try various methods of demonstrating what she'd already shown them using their system/curriculum.

Think of this as the "does not compute" response.

The National Park Service has produced a new website on the civil war:

    http://www.nps.gov/civilwar/index.htm

Check out the teachers page for curriculum, etc. If are close enough to one of the parks, check out their programs, esp. the junior ranger programs.
