Above are the scores that my daughter (6 in 1st grade) received on the COGAT this month. I received the letter with the test results and a request for further testing which will occur on May 1st. She was referred by her teacher for gifted tested after receiving 100% on both the Fall and Spring Math DBA tests. So I guess my question is does anyone know what the next test normally is? Do these COGAT scores mean anything? I know it's not an actual IQ test. Just curious and thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert, but with those Cogat scores it's reasonable to assume your daughter is gifted. As far as the next test, try googling your district and gifted. It should bring up more information. My daughter's district uses that, along with grades and teacher recommendations to place kids into the program, but every district is different. Hopefully some others will chime in here.

I'm not an expert either but those scores are quite impressive and I would think they point to giftedness as well.

Thanks for the input. I did google the district and gifted and also scoured the districts web page and could only find references to the COGAT and Torrance Test of Creative Thinking for creativity. I guess we'll find out on May 1st. Thanks again.
