    Hello.

I am looking for a tester in the gulf region - anywhere from LA through the Florida panhandle or Georgia. This is for a middle schooler and we'd like someone who is familiar with 2E - ADHD.

If it is worth the travel, we will.

    Thanks!

I know of Spomenka Newman in GA who specializes in 2e and gifted kids. You may also want to check the Hoagies website for their lists specialists. I'm not sure where you are located, but maybe you could find someone closer. Good luck!

Thank you - yes, I had found her on the Hoagies site. She sounds just about perfect. Do you know of anyone who has experience working with her?

We saw her for a brief visit when DD was having trouble with her school awhile ago, so we didn't do a full evaluation with her. She was very supportive and really seemed to 'get' DD, and I really enjoyed our visit with her--very refreshing, after dealing with so many people who did not understand or seem interested in understanding our kid. I think she has higher degrees in both gifted and 2e-ness, but more importantly she understood that at least some of DD's social issues came from the gifted stuff and feeling out of place rather than (all) of them being from some disorder or another. DD really liked her, too, and although I thought DD might have a little trouble with her Eastern European accent, DD didn't even seem to notice it. Good luck!

That is what I am looking for, someone who is educated in the area and has experience with complex kid. I'd hope to get guidance about additional information and testing might be helpful in determining school choices and also just providing some insight to our local professionals. Thank you.
