I have been having my ds5 (in kindergarten) use Time4 Learning at home afterschool working through the first grade topics in LA and Math. My thought is then if homeschool is what we need to do next year, we could start 2nd grade without worrying about gaps. Well, in LA today (which he happily did and I had to make him stop after 1 hr), I realized he was playing games within the games. Ex. if the topic was blended sounds, he would mute the word, turn the sound back on, and pick the right blended sound. Also, he was trying to move letters to spell words with his eyes closed.
Clearly, this is not challenging ds in the least. I know and do do other things with him. I'm just worried about if I need to homeschool how do I know what level to start? How will school react to re- entry if I've accelerated him to his level of learning?
