This is a great question--can anyone give me advice on apps that are suited to slightly older kids? My dd is almost 11. I copied a bunch of these app names for her and she said that she had looked at some, but they were babyish.

I'd be particularly delighted to find good apps for math learning for her. She loves math and is going to be finishing 6th grade math this year.

There's age and there's aptitude levels. If she is just getting into algebra, then DragonBox is a cool abstract game to lay down tracks in algebraic manipulation a. I enjoyed it myself. Khan academy is also good for videos. Wolfram has quite a few products there are well presented. Mathemagics is a bunch of math shortcuts and tricks. Really depends on what her goal is ans what she finds motivating. Math Brownie is grade levelled and you can get apps for accomplishments in it and possibly songs. Ultimate math tutor has some good videos and such.
