    Hello everyone,

From time to time I feel that it is necessary to remind everyone of the forum rules (http://bit.ly/RxgLl1).

While we attempt to "avoid discussions about politics and religion," I understand that sometimes those realms can cross over into topics related to gifted education. Despite this, we need to walk a fine line with this and stay on topic as much as humanly possible, without veering off on to topics that stray from the original point. We're going to attempt to keep a closer eye on these topics so that we don't have to close threads that contain some good discussion. If you see a post that you feel is inappropriate or unnecessary, please click "notify" so I can take a look at it.

We also require posters to be polite and to not bully or insult. Posters who attack others will have posts deleted, and will be banned on repeat offenses.

If you wish to ignore individual users' posts, click the poster's display name and then "View profile". Then click "ignore this user". You then will not see the text of that person's post, just a note that says:

*** You are ignoring this user ***

You can always reverse this setting if you wish.

Thank you for your cooperation; please let me know if you have any questions.

    Mark

    Hello Everyone,

I would like everyone to remember that this Forum is supposed to be a friendly, safe place for people to seek out help and advice as well as be able to provide guidance to those who need it.

That being said, the Davidson Institute does not have the time to monitor every post. Therefore, I encourage everyone to become familiar with the board rules, and then report posts that violate the board rules or are offensive.

This will help keep the board a safe and friendly place for everyone.

    Thank you!

If they don't understand it at any level they will stop reading. If they don't understand everything they will catch it at a later reading. The only problem I see is if you have a child who won't reread.
