A kid from a neighboring town of ours is going to be on Nickelodeon, a show called "Figure It Out" -- which we haven't watched before but might have to start!

His name is Easton LaChappelle, and he went to nationals in a science competition this year with a robotic arm he built. Now he's going to be on this TV show on November 1st.

My son is meeting him for lunch tomorrow, with his school counselor and another kid in our school who has grade-skipped twice. I hope meeting the kid and then seeing him on TV will spur DS's enthusiasm and maybe lead him to a bit more focus on something.

    Thanks!

I don't know if it's on tonight or not -- the guide has someone else's name in the "featured" info. We're getting ready for it, though, just in case....

Yes! We thought it wasn't the right episode, but Easton showed up in the middle! I thought it was extra cool that DS got to have lunch with him before seeing him on TV -- that way, he was already somebody he knew when he saw him on TV, if that makes sense. DS thought it would be just as cool the other way.
