We had Ds6 (almost 7) tested last year. Our tester does not administer the WJ-III. I am looking for someone in the Schaumburg area that does. Any suggestions?

If you run a search you should find a thread about someone in Long Grove I think. Not exactly Schaumburg but not more than a 30 minute drive either. I'm not sure who it was, just remember reading about it not too long ago.

well, I guess I wasn't much help, was I? lol ... but thanks for the recommendations! I'll keep her in mind when the time comes to test my boys!

why do you need the WJ-III specifically? Is it school program related?

I think there is a list on Hoagies gifted website. That's what Mk13 may have seen the name. There was a couple other names on the list for Illinois. My daughter who is in the Magnet Program in Schaumburg never had that test. I read somewhere that gifted children don't score well on the test.

Are you aware of the following link. It contains, I think three Chicago area testers; Naperville, Skokie, and the area around Great America I think.

    From the top thread
    Elizabeth Mika - Gurnee, IL
    (north of Chicago)
Dr. Mark McKee in Naperville, IL.
Dr. Jerry Schecter. He is our district school pyschologist. He's also a SENG group leader and highly interested in supporting gifted children. His private practice is in Skokie, IL.
