How does a 276 Math RIT score rank for a 10th grader? Is it considered gifted... or just smart?

276 is 98th percentile. NWEA considers anything over 95th percentile as gifted.

The MAP test is an achievement test. A score like that might be achieved by a gifted person, sure.

Just scored a 253 in Language Arts... again, how does this rate? Have been trying to get advanced classes for a while, school is not so willing.

Thank you all for the answers you've given. We are also new to MAP. first test today in Reading and I feel like I'm in need of a crash course in understanding the tests and score interpretations.
