Does anyone have much experience with EPGY? I've been dealing with EPGY on and off for a few months now and find them to be quite disorganized.

We looked into fall writing courses back in May; the head of the English department requested writing samples. We sent them immediately, and then it took ages (and one or two reminders from me) to get a response with a placement.

Then we registered for the recommended class (late July?) and we still haven't received information about when it's starting and materials we might need to buy. I tried calling different numbers, but people at EPGY rarely answer their phones, so I left messages. I also sent emails and am hoping to get a response soon.

We also had frustrations with a history course they offer (ended up signing up for AP History with CTY).

Has anyone else had this problem with them?

    Hi, Val,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. We've just been doing the math and haven't had that many issues (just that there are bugs here and there in the computer program, and I would have thought the program has been around long enough to be totally de-bugged). We're happy overall, plus DD loves being able to work at her own pace. But it's good to know that there might be such problems with other courses. Good luck getting it fixed.

    Hi Val,
I only had contact with them once when I tried to see if there's an EPGY open enrolment group in Canada. I was given the name of the person in charge of the one group in Western Canada. I contacted him and he gave me a call. Turns out the man's daughter used EPGY 5 years ago! There is no group in Western Canada ... or maybe it is administrating itself ;-) But apparently their list had not been updated in 5 years. I find that very shocking!
