    Dear All,

I have an 8YO son who has been doing the EPGY math course for Grade 4. Before we enrolled in the OE program, we were in the full fee, with tutor version and I'm now about to move
to the OE version. Just to make the levels match, I adjusted the OE math level to 4.5 (DS is at 4.75 right now) and proceeded to answer the questions myself to move to 4.7 or so so he would have a smooth transition. Surprise!!! Totally new concepts -- nothing that we'd seen before. The version he was enrolled in stayed with the concepts list as given on the webpage (see http://epgy.stanford.edu/courses/math/M0WC/index.html?grade5.html for Gr 5, for instance). The OE is a good half year to 0.75 year ahead in certain areas (not all) compared to the outline...

Is there anyone here doing Gr 4 math? Have you observed this? Can you confirm that, for instance, Finding the Least Common Denominator and Rewritng Fractions (sic) is level 4.515 as I see on my screen? According to the outline (and in the tutored version of EPGY) it is 5.266, almost exactly three quarters of a year ahead! Am I missing something? This could be a problem in transitioning since the gap is not uniform across all areas and I'd like to be ready.

    Hi, Funda,
Sorry I can't answer your question, as we only have the full fee version available here, but I have contacted them a couple of times directly (addresses available on the site) and found them very helpful. I would imagine that would be your best bet for an answer, as there probably aren't many people who have switched from the full fee to open enrollment during a particular course.
    Good luck!
