OP loosemoose Junior Member L Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 14	Jim Browder who use to be the superintendent for the Lee County School District, Fort Myers, Florida is a finalist for the superintendent position for the Anchorage School District. Do any of you know how he regarded Gifted Education? TIA

Elisa Member Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 116	I was told that he was a gifted teacher at one point and that he values gifted ed. In Florida, gifted ed is mandated by the state govt and it's lumped in with Special Ed. Lee county offers several elementary and middle schools with full time gifted programs and I think all the other schools offer part time gifted which can be one hour a day or one day a week.
