    Yesterday, the NY Times ran an article about interactive etextbooks, featuring a book by Nature Publishing, coming out in Jan. 2012. It is a college level introductory biology text, and will sell for $49. It sounds like it will have many interactive features, some of which are Mathematica based - I am eager to see a sample. Our 6th grade dd is interested in science but non-plussed by the pace of her science class at school, so we are thinking about getting this for her. (Maybe they would even let her work on it in class, instead of doing word searches/hangman/creating a science game....)

    Has there been discussion here already about this? Interactive texts are very new and seem to have great potential as a resource for gifted kids, so I'd love to hear if ya'll know of other texts of this type and/or have experiences to share. Thanks!
