    Algebra: Hands-On Equations

It is geared to the younger child and I am wondering how your kids did with it. I went to a teacher store this morning and purchased a die and some pins (not sure what they are called). I think I may try this with ds6.

    Thanks for your input

Last time I checked with my 5th grade mathy girl, she found it to be "boring" when her gifted program teacher used it with them in 4th grade. I'll ask her about it. It might be that it's just better for younger ones.

My son did this in his gifted pullout when he was in 1st/2nd grade - haven't asked him lately if they still do it (he's in 3rd now) but he did enjoy it. I'll try and remember to ask him when he gets home.

Just asked ds8 - he says they still do it at school - he likes it - but sometimes he just figures the answers out in in head rather than use the manipulatives.
