Have you ever tried to explain to a 2 yr old who regularly snacks on the lavendar, borage, and rosebushes while waiting for mama why he should not eat the roses mama just bought at _the grocery store_?

I told him they might have pesticides, and without missing a beat the child tells me: "It's ok, I'm not a pest."

oooooh. Classic. I hope you've got that written down somewhere like a journal.

(btw: dd11 eats grass, dandelion greens, wild onion, and acorns.)

Sounds like my ds, who used to say "I am not crazy, I am a scientist."
