I just found out my son will be taking the OLSAT to determine GT (he's in third grade). He's consistently scored above the 99th percentile on the MAP test for the past two years (since he first took it). He last scores (end of second grade) were 219 in reading and 228 in math. He scored 138 on the knowledge portion of the Kaufman last year.

I'm just wondering what the OLSAT is like. Is it comparible to the MAP test or Kaufman? If so, is he likely to score high on it as well? Is there anything I can do to help him prepare?

He really is a very smart child and I want him to qualify so he can get enrichment classes.

I wish that I could tell you that I'd be sure that he'd do really well, but it does at least sound like he is a good, consistent tester on school tests which bodes well. The OLSAT is one of those multiple choice group ability tests given by schools.
