DH is speaking with someone about a job near Winston, Salem. Any good school options for 2 DYS elementary kids? We will not be able to pay for school.

I am in the Charlotte area so I do not know Winston Salem well. However, I think that in the more populated areas NC is decent for gifted education. Here is the link to the state NCLB rankings

I know this a few years off, but there is The North Carolina Academy of Science and Math, which a boarding school for 11th and 12th grade. It is very difficult to get into but it is a fantastic option not offered in many states.

I am sure someone can be more specific. Good luck. NC is a great place to raise families.

There is a highly gifted program in public elem and middle schools in Winston-Salem. Whether it is truly highly gifted would be open to debate, but they are trying at least. Here's the website with info: HAG info
