Thank you for you encouragement Grinity, that your story is similar and that things get better. I'm in the process of organizing all my thoughts, history and new info about everything. Thanks for the suggestion of calling the psy first to see if he would be a match. I think I feel more comfortable calling first. Before I was thinking about that, but wasn't sure if that was possible. I think I will be calling around three offices.

    Thanks herenow for your support.

I have not observed too much this year. Though I volunteered with activities, I was keeping a distance for two reasons; one he seemed to be doing better, and two I was so tired from volunteering and being involved before we switched schools with no results. I now feel that there may have been some set backs. His teacher all of sudden seems to think his behaviors are more upsetting over the last few weeks. I'm not sure if she is just viewing the same behaviors differently b/c of an incident and the end of a long year, or she was keeping her feelings to herself by telling me he is improving so much. However, he has improved greatly. One step forward two steps back. Anyway school is now out and we have relaxed for a few days. My current plan is to go to a psy, maybe out of town for a gifted and 2E specialist. Then to work with someone local to unlearn his habits. I'm not sure if these habits are b/c of the previous mentioned issues or possible Aspergers. However, either-way I think an evaluation will offer a frame work for us along with his teacher to work with. Also, next year I think I am going to organize a science club for ds's class. The teacher also thinks that this could be a good idea. I think I have been recuperating and re-grouping for a bit and I'm now feeling a bit more hopeful for the next year.

"However, the lower PSI/WMI should not be discounted. He will present differently from a child that has a FSIQ of 144."

Dottie, I know that different people with similar IQ profiles can be very different, However, that being said are there any general characteristics on how ds would present differently?
