Last year my son did 1/2 day at home and then 1/2 day at school...after Christmas he switched to full day school. He had been homeschooled for the three years before that.

It was okay and our school was very welcoming...but things would come up like assigning a social studies report and it counting for both a grade in LA and in Social Studies and being given time in both classes for it (but he was only there for one of the two classes and would miss out on time working on the report) and then some group projects she would find time when work was done in the morning to squeeze in time for the group to meet and he wasn't there to work with his group. Not that these obstacles couldn't be overcome, just you have to realize that for elementary school kids sometimes the classes aren't "discreet".
