From the UCLA math circle....Might be of interest to some of our kids.
On behalf of the UCLA Department of Mathematics, I would like to invite you to 
the
American Mathematical Society  (AMS) Einstein Public Lecture in Mathematics.
The speaker is the famous UCLA faculty, Fields medalist, Prof. Terence Tao.  
The title is \"The Cosmic Distance Ladder\". The date is Saturday, October 9th, 
at 6:15 p.m. in UCLA\'s Shoenberg Hall (the second biggest public lecture hall 
at UCLA). Early arrival is recommended. Sitting is on a first come first serve 
basis. The lecture is suitable for students as young as strong middle school 
students and high school students. Parents are very welcome to attend. 
This rare event is taking place as a part of the AMS meeting taking place at 
UCLA over that weekend.
