OH Lord ... don't tell me this. LOL My DD has never been the type to do anything unless she wants to and incentives never worked on her BUT I was hoping as she got older it would. Back to the drawing board for me.
I don't know whether it'll help, but I think this is a good thing! It's all very convenient to adults when young children can be motivated into doing something by a bribe or threat, regardless of the worth of the thing itself, but that's fundamentally
childish. Surely what we should be encouraging is that they choose whether to do something or not based on whether it's the right thing to do (and that they realise that sometimes that is the same as whether they want to do it, and sometimes not!)
