What you describe is normal development no matter what IQ level. For a infant and toddler their world is changing almost on a daily basis and they are hitting big milestones. If you think back to her walking or crawling you might remember something she was into but suddenly didn't care about it because her new skill was exciting and took most of her energy. Many children will even stop sleeping when obtaining new skills. Also just a side note on these stages in their life, but one I find interesting is hand domination. A child is not officially left or right handed until around age 3. They have come to discover that part of this reason is it links to development within the brain and if you watch closely lots of children will have a preference and will use their left or right hand for a while, but when they hit a big milestone such as walking etc their preference with their hand choice flips. IE. they were using their right hand to grab things but will suddenly start using their left hand for awhile. Exactly why and how it links in the brain I can't remember but really interesting and I witnessed it with my daughter many times.
