I would strongly warn you against bringing your DH is hear Dr. Rimm. Don't get me wrong, she's terrific, and she appears understands LOG, but she pitches her talkes and books to the top 15% of the ability scale, and leaves aside the needs of PG kids. I would love to hear her, and think you would enjoy her as well, but remember that the top .1% is a very small number, and not who she is likely to be addressing. It seems likely to me that if you DH attends, he will come home 'armed' with quotes against you. I hate to see that happen.
Rimm is gives great advice to parents of MG and bright kids who are whining. And she recognizes that the HG+ and PG kids do need to be accomidated, but she is wonderful at not watering down her message by talking about those 'few and rare' much.
Purely my personal opinion, but if I were in your shoes, I'd want to be warned.
