I had a meeting with DD's teacher yesterday and was thrilled. (Background: We put DD in a social preschool at the beginning of the school year and realized it wasn't a good fit. She was showing signs of dumbing down and kept saying things such as she shouldn't write or read at her age. She was the baby in the class and they treated her as such and she took on the role beautifully, so we decided to move her to a more academic school that is also a full Spanish Immersion program.)

Her teacher is thrilled with DD's progress and realizes DD is a very smart little girl. The teacher is amazed at her maturity and observation ability. She suspects DD will be a scientist. I have no idea what DD will do in her adult life but will back her in whatever she is interested in. Even with the issues we brought over from the preschool, it didn't take long for DD to get back to her normal self and she is now excited to learn again. The teacher said that she is now flying in Spanish and in another month or two she will probably be fluent. We are really thrilled with her progress and even more thrilled that we got our DD back. I am just crossing my fingers that she stays motivated and continues to love school, specifically that school because we hope to keep her there until 5th grade. I love that they are a small school. Their 2nd grade has 5 students. I know as they continue to grow the numbers will go up but what a treat for those kids to have such one on one time with their teacher. I also love that they don't keep the kids separated during recess time, so DD has the opportunity to play with the older kids and find it amazing how the older kids gravitate towards her. We really have found a wonderful environment for her and I am so glad I listened to my gut about the other school and didn't just wait it out like we could have.
