Checking to see if anyone has had any experience with a democratically run school. I just found out about this type of education and I am interested in learning about personal experiences.,opinions, or adivse. Below is what I am dealing with and just wondering if this is something I should consider.
My DD6 is a child who has a November birth and is in K. To make a long story short, at the beginning of the year they did some testing and her teacher set up a meeting with us to determine what to do with her because she was on a completely different level as everyone else. We had discussed a grade skip but could not get every one on the same page with that so they recommened to send her to 1st for her academics and then back to K for specials, lunch, etc. (You can see why the grade skip never happened....they were worried about the "social" aspect of it) That was okay with us but the plan has not followed thru very well. Half the time it never happens because the teacher forgets or 1st grade is doing something different. I don't feel that she will get the challenge that she needs if I continue with the school she is currently at. That is why I am looking into alternatives and need some advice.
