I know many of you have read the Mysterious Benedict Society books, but I wanted to put this out there for those of you who haven't heard of them yet.

A few months ago I started reading the MBS to my kids (DS11, DD8, DS6) at bedtime, and now we're in the middle of the second book. We're all really enjoying it and can't wait to read it every night. We all really enjoy trying to notice all the little clues throughout the book and trying to figure out what's going to happen next, so it's really interactive reading. What I find particularly great, though, is how it allows us to talk about the particular issues that can come up when you are gifted. Tonight we talked about feeling like you have to hide your abilities, like Constance does. The other night we talked about how important it is to be proud of your abilities but not to brag about it like Sticky has started doing on occasion. We often talk about how every person has different strengths and abilities and how that's a really good thing, like all four kids each have different ways of thinking about things and that they all have to contribute their strengths to get things done. And the list goes on an on.

Anyway, I just wanted to recommend the books to anyone who hasn't read them yet!

She thought she could, so she did.
