Good points, CFK! I have also found that the older DD gets, the more she is willing to change peer groups in order to get more challenging classes. She changed to a new math class knowing she would be with kids 2-3 years older than her. She has great friends that she sees during study hall, band and social studies. The things I worry about (social) she is completely aware of but chooses academic happiness over having a friend sitting next to her. I don't know how typical this is of GT kids, but she makes these decisions with complete confidence. If I could stop worrying about the teen years, we'd be ok...LOL!
