Update:

I had the meeting with my dd6's homeroom teacher regarding her Math placement for next year. I wanted to know how much they would consider her RIT score for her Math placement next year. She said that they do not base their assessment solely on the NWEA MAP tests, but do consider the scores in conjunction with her performance this year. (I saw the class grades at the last P/T conferences and dd6's was by far the highest.)

She did make a comment that some gifted children are just really good at taking multiple choice tests. I suppose that is possible depending on the answer selections given, gifted children can make very good "educated guesses."

Anyway, she looked up my dd6's score and agreed that it was high. She will try to do further "in house" assessment before the end of the year to see what she knows and then will look at her closely again at the start of next year.
