Making new leaps in reading... Someone made mention of their child being intimidated by print/size books etc. My daughter kept trying to read The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe in sept. But it was my old copy... we got a new copy... slightly larger print (more like JBJ instead of James Patterson size). And presto, what a good book mom. So when the now 5yr showed some of the same fears we got the book she seemed interested out in "large" print from the library. I think for a lot of kids once they realize they could read the book - they don't ask for the big print any more.
We also keep as a general rule - if a movie was a good+ book first. You have to read the book before you can see the movie.
