This sounds very interesting - from 1991, however.
Has anyone heard of this test? Is it being used anywhere? (group test)

from another article -
"Robert Sternberg, a dean at Tufts University and a prolific author, has suggested another model for assessing intelligence. He created the Sternberg Triarchic Abilities Test. It includes multiple-choice questions that measure three aspects of intelligence analytic, practical, and creative and their interrelationship. His theory states that intelligent behavior results from a balance among these three abilities. He defines intelligence as one's skill in achieving whatever it is "you want to attain in your life within your sociocultural context by capitalizing on your strengths and compensating for or correcting your weaknesses."

Sternberg's interest in intelligence has an interesting origin. When he was in elementary school, he scored very poorly on those paper-and-pencil standardized IQ tests. His potential as a scholar was considered very poor until his 4th grade teacher, trusting her own impression of this boy as very bright, decided not to put any faith in his low test scores. Her insight and high expectations turned out to be life-changing for Sternberg, who retained a lifelong curiosity about what intelligence really is. In the 7th grade, he created his own IQ test for a science assignment. He went on to graduate with highest honors from Yale, earn a doctorate at Stanford, and become a renowned psychologist and scholar.
