It's nice to hear your DC's did not learn to read using phonics. DD3 has been reading some easy-reader books lately but does not sound out the words; she just remembers the words from reading them in other books. I was wondering if this was a bad way to learn to read since she's not using phonics to learn a word. Not that I am going to try and correct her since she is reading at only 3-yrs-old, but I wondered if this was going to hinder her later. Apparently it sounds like she'll be just fine if you guys have DC's that did this too!
