At thanksgiving time we were at my Sister's home in a lovely snowy area. The kids were out sledding with their cousins, one of whom is a 7yo boy with a very fragile emotional system. He is prone to throwing himself down and having full blown tantrums at the drop of a hat.

The response that everyone gives to this behavior is to ensure that he is safe and let him finish. We don't see him often so my dds are not exposed to his "routines" regularly.

So DN has a melt down face first in the snow. Everyone goes about their business as if nothing happened. DD7 goes running to my sister and says "Aren't you a nurse or something? You need to help him before his head explodes!!"

We were laughing which caused DN to "get over himself" to see what was so fun over where we were.
