I was looking around at articles because we plan to re-test sometime after DS turns 6. While DS tested fine with the SB-5, what he demonstrates at home just doesn't seem to match up to his "official" FSIQ score. If you've followed my postings since early this year then you probably know that it took quite a bit of time for me to come to this conclusion! I was googling around on the correlation between the SB-5 and the WISC-IV and I found pretty interesting:
Gifted and highly gifted students: how do they score on the SB5? There is some really good tables in here (although N is small) but in a nutshell, it's basically saying that there are some HG+ kids that will test low on the SB-5 but do much, much better on the WISC-IV. I don't think it invalidates the SB-5, but to me there is a little validation that my gut might be more right than the SB-5 test results we got last summer. (The pysch did put on our report that he thought the SB-5 was a "bad" test for DS.)
