I've started some standardised maths tests with Miss 7 so that I can measure her progress over weeks/months.
Today, we did 5 x 1 minute tests (addition, multiplication, subtraction, harder addition and place value). How do I record the results? What's better - accuracy or speed? She completed 60 questions (out of a possible 120) with 6 incorrect responses. I guess my aim is accuracy AND speed so I should be looking for an improvement in both?
It was fun (!) but funny to see her forget all of her maths rules as soon as the timer went on - doh!
