She told me that some kids can be listening while appearing to be distracted and she thought she'd see if he was like that. They're going to work on teaching him to pay attention in the more traditional way, yet they'll do it constructively, and not by punishing him or forcing him to SIT STILL!!!
Wow, Val. I'm beyond drooling on keyboard (BDOK, anyone?). Your boys' school sounds incredible. I only wish that schools like this would become such a success that they would be held up as a model for all other schools to follow. How many kids are in a class or in the school so that the teacher has the ability to cater her learning style to match the needs of the students? Maybe a student to teacher ratio would explain it best, if you feel comfortable about sharing. Just trying to gauge whether the school's style could be stretched to fit a larger student body.
Wow. I think I'll just sit here for a few minutes and ponder what a world would be like if all schools could be like this. Okay, maybe I'll drooling a little bit!!
