Dottie-

I have no words of wisdom to offer. We very rarely define our homeschooled kids by grade level, and personally I feel all kids would do better learning in mixed age environments without so much emphasis on grade levels. But for the purpose of competition, one has to declare a grade and kids who skip are clearly at a disadvantage here.

You want to have your son take the SAT, but if you register him as a 7th grader this year, he will not be eligible to take it as a 7th grader next year, right? Why not just have him register for the SAT independently (as grade level doesn't matter if it isn't the talent search) and wait until next year for the talent search and awards?
