Thanks, everyone. I didn't really think it was that big a deal. But I am pleased to get some congrats to pass along to DS. DS has a fall birthday and would be in grade 5 if we'd enrolled him at the age permitted, so as a 6th grader, he is marginally younger than most of his "classmates". Sometimes I wonder how competitive he'd be if we kept him at what we were told was "age appropriate" way back when. He might come out further on top, or he might have just shut off the learning and coasted. It's hard to say.

Delbows, it was only the SCAT test for grade six, so not the SAT. He'll do that next year. The SCAT is fast and on a computer, so MUCH less of a challenge than the SAT, especially for my son with 2e issues.

Dottie, I'm not sure what you mean about somebody noticing. Who is likely to notice? As far as I can tell, there's not any tangible reward associated with the score.
