After all the reading that I have done about gifted kids, it seems like a lot of therapists don't know about all the AG social/emotional issues. The psychiatrists I spoke with stated that of course other psych. would know all about gifted kids. Do they?

We are in a similar situation - I've called all the local options and branched out to about a 100 mile radius and they all tell me they have someone that could work, but no one that has specific experience with gifted children. They act like I'm crazy when I ask them if any of their staff have experience in working with gifted children and I get the impression they believe any ole therapist will do. I don't want just any ole therapist, I want someone that understands the specifics of working with gifted children.

Good luck greenlotus!
