If any of you knew me IRL, this particular turn of phrase really WOULD make you laugh out loud. I'm anything but passive by gender normative standards. Quite feisty, in fact. I also see a lot of my less savory personality quirks inherent IN Amy Chua, let's just say.
But yes, I see my role in my DD's life as being to serve as drag when she needs it as much as to provide push when she needs THAT. She wanted to be enrolled in college by age 12; this was a stated goal from age 2, btw. I provided drag because I could see reasons why it wouldn't be the right thing.
Ergo, I'm not a Tiger Mom. At least-- not that way. More like a Grizzly Mom. Moose Mom, maybe. {snicker}
