What's the opinions of the teacher?
DS' current preschool teacher, preschool director, and the elementary school principle are all suggesting to hold him back a year due to his immaturity.
The teacher says his academic ability is well beyond his age, but his emotional ability isn’t.
It is time his teachers etc joined the rest of us in the 21st century. There is no excuse for holding back a child academically because he doesn't fit into the teacher's little mould of how he should feel, think and socialise. It may be that the other kids need a few more years to catch up with him rather than the other way round as the teacher is claiming.
