Our meeting with ds5 teacher and instructional coach was today. Kind of a waste of time, except that dh was there. (He is a project manager and spends everyday in meetings.) in saying that, he thinks this was a meeting to set up for the next meeting(s).

At our meeting, we mentioned our concerns behavior in class, not wanting to go to school, not being challenged, change in groups, and discrepancy between DRA and comprehension we see. Basically, we were told behavior is borderline a problem. She thinks he needs to learn to slow down. Really? Also, when we asked about the groups, she never gave an answer just what they're doing. (Which is review, btw.)

My dh tried to mention concern for next year; but the instructional coach said our district does differentiation well. Oh yeah- not this year.

So, my dh wants to have f/u p/t conference next month to check on behavior and reading comprehension. Get ds testing by recommended neuropsychologist on Hoagies (hope we can get in) and can seek some guidance from her, then meet with the principal.

So, we'll see....
