I just tried to register my homeschooled DS12 for the SAT and have discovered that it's not possible to use online registration for a student under age 13. This means I'll have to go to a local high school to get the paper forms and send them in. This presumably has to do with federal laws regarding the collection of data on children under age 13. Fair enough.
For others with kids who took the SAT at 12 or younger, did you have any problems? The College Board site says that anyone can take the test, regardless of age. But schools being what they are, I wonder if anyone has experienced any problems with registering.
Do the schools care who comes to take the test, provided the person has a valid entry ticket? Or can a school refuse to allow a non-student to test on its property? Is there anything I should know before I call the school tomorrow?
