I have to agree that it seems a bit much of a kindergartener to write 3-5 sentences when that is not told to her or asked of the rest of the class. My ds5 is supposed to be responsible of his learning, thus expected to pick 5 books/ week AR leveled. His AR level just went up, and he got "in trouble" because he was trying to check out a too- easy book. Really, he just forgot. I understand the teacher wants to encourage independence and self- advocacy, but sometimes, they need to remember these guys are only in kindergarten.
Hope things continue to atleast be tolerable if not better.
